Lloydminster is the only city in Canada officially incorporated under the legislation of two provinces simultaneously. Texarkana, Texas / Arkansas
Texarkana wears its dual identity right in its name — a portmanteau of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana (the tri-state area it anchors). The city is split into two separate municipalities — Texarkana, TX and Texarkana, AR — but they share a post office that sits precisely on the state line, making it one of the most photographed border landmarks in the American South. Kansas City, Missouri / Kansas
Kansas City is a study in metropolitan identity. Bristol, Tennessee / Virginia
Bristol may be the most visually striking entry on this list. State Street — the city's main commercial corridor — is also the state line, with Tennessee on one side and Virginia on the other. The centre line of the road is the border. Bristol is technically two cities (Bristol, TN and Bristol, VA) with two city governments, but one shared downtown, one shared identity, and one very famous sign straddling the street that reads "Bristol VA-TN." Chattanooga, Tennessee / Georgia
Chattanooga sits at the Tennessee–Georgia border, and while the city itself is firmly in Tennessee, its geography, culture, and economy have always spilled southward. The greater Chattanooga metro extends into northern Georgia, and communities like Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe are as much a part of the Chattanooga orbit as any Tennessee suburb.
